Danny Yank
Jewish Chaplain
Danny grew up in north London in a thriving Jewish area. In the late 1990's he left home to take up an undergraduate place at Exeter University. Since then, life and work led him back to the West Country, where he finally settled close to Exeter with his wife and two children.
As well as being our Jewish chaplain, Danny is involved in a number of other supportive roles, one of them being Jewish Chaplain for Devon prisons. In his professional life, he is a British Army Officer amd currently specialises in negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution.
Danny attends Exeter Synagoge with his family and describes himself as a liberal-leaning Jew, albeit hailing from orthodox roots. He is passionate about improving the student experience and encourages everyone, regardless of their faith, to reach out for help, support, a conversation or simply a confidential listening ear.
Danny is best contacted by email at D.Yank@exeter.ac.uk or you can ask for his mobile number by contacting the Multifaith Chaplaincy office at chaplaincy@exeter.ac.uk.
