Staying on campus or in Exeter over the Spring vacation period? If so, check out the pages below to find out what facilities, services and events are available within the University.

Most facilities and services will be available as normal (following out of term opening hours) until Thursday 17 April, and will re-open for normal business on Tuesday 22 April. Between these times there may be limited opening hours and we advise you check details on this page. 

Full details on services and events will be available on Friday 28 March.

Other events in town

During April, Exeter puts a variety of events in place for everyone to enjoy. The RAMM holds talks, lectures, exhibitions, and workshops such as the RAMM Lates session to explore a variety of music and dance performances, writing and yoga sessions, and more. Other performances will take place at Northcott Theatre and Exeter Phoenix, as listed in their websites. And the Red Coat guides will continue their regular tours across the city that go from exploring Medieval Exeter to hearing about its ghosts and legends.

Working during my studies

The Student Health centre will be offering NHS GP services to students from 8.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday except for Bank Holidays.

Please where possible continue to use Online Consultations and call 01392 6766676 if you have an urgent request. If you would like to request repeat medication please email 
d-icb.stthomasp@nhs.net detailing the medication you require. If you have not had the medication prescribed by the Student Health Centre team before, please send us an online consultation form.

Outside of these hours please phone NHS 111 for non-urgent medical advice. For medical emergencies please call 999.

Wellbeing Services will be open 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday except for Bank Holidays (Friday 18 April , Monday 21 April, Monday 5 May 2025).

There is also a lot of information, advice and guidance on the University’s Wellbeing and Support webpages. This includes apps, webinars and workbooks which you may find helpful. 

You an access a wide range of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy based support online through Living Life to the Full, including courses on low mood, anxiety and stress. You can access Living Life to the Full through our A-Z of support services. 

All students have access to Togetherall which is an online support community, offering peer and professional support and is available 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Postgraduate research students can also access Spectrum Life for counselling and support .

If you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health and want to speak with someone you can call NHS 111 for urgent mental health support. You can also contact The Samaritans on 116123. Or 999 in an emergency.

The Multifaith chaplains are available to talk to during the Easter break for one-on-one support. Book a ‘Time To Talk’ slot here or email chaplaincy@exeter.ac.uk .

Forum study spaces
Open 24/7 throughout Easter Vacation

Forum Library 
Remains open 24/7 and will be staffed in person10:00-18:00 Saturday 29 March and Sunday 27 April.

St Luke’s Library remains open as usual. In addition to this Giraffe House and Cross Keys study areas will also be open over the weekend.

The library ‘Ask Us’ service remains open throughout and can be found on all of our webpages.

Whilst there are no in-person drop-ins outside of term time, 20-minute bookable appointments with a study skills adviser are available throughout the Easter period. More details here: Study skills drop-ins and bookable appointments

  • For advice about your dissertation, preparing for exams, or any other aspect of your studies, come to a Study Zone drop-in to speak to an Academic Skills Adviser.
  • For advice about research in your modules or for your dissertation/final project you can book an appointment with your Liaison Librarian if you’d like tailored support.

Don’t forget to use the online study resources available to you:

  • Study Zone Digital and Study Hub provide guidance about all aspects of your study including dissertations, time management, preparing for exams, and much more. 
  • LibGuides provide information and guidance for your subject, as well as guidance on finding and evaluating library materials. 
  • If English is not your first language, you can find Guided Independent Learning lessons covering different skills areas from academic reading and writing to listening and speaking skills

Career Zone

During the Spring vacation the Career Zone will be here to support you 10.00-15.00 Monday to Friday. 

Appointments are available with our friendly and experienced staff, plus our team will be available to live chat with you via our website, take your phone calls and answer your emails.  

You can access Handshake to search for jobs and opportunities, and My Career Zone Digital is there for instant CV reviews, interview practice and skills development. Plus you can use our website for careers research and planning.

The Estate Patrol Control Room is staffed 24/7 this includes the Easter vacation period. Estate Patrol Officers will be available to provide advice, direction and attend incidents as required. The non-emergency telephone line is 01392 723999, in cases of emergency individuals should contact the emergency services on 999 and then contact the Estate Patrol through their emergency line 01392 722222.
