International Student Mentoring: Global Chums Exeter - Become a Mentor September 2024
We welcome applications from any student who would like to be a Global Chums mentor (volunteer post), but especially welcome applications from international and EU students, as well as those returning from Study Abroad themselves. This is perfect for 2nd year students looking to have fun and add some experience to their CV.
If you would like to be considered as a Chum Mentor, it is essential that you are committed to the whole 6 week programme (starting week 1, 23 September 2024). This means you should:
- Complete peer mentor training (approximately 1 hour online over the summer)
- Email your mentee at the beginning of term and reply to their emails and questions
- Join the Global Chums Exeter Facebook Group
- Attend the ‘Meet Your Mentor’ event in week 1 and ongoing social events throughout term 1 - the scheme is only ever as successful as its mentors!
- Respond to the Global Chums Exit Questionnaire
- We estimate that the commitment time is 1-2 hours per week for 6 weeks.
