Apply for a PASS card to prove your age, so you don’t have to carry your passport or BRP around with you. You can apply online.
Lost or stolen BRPs and passports
The BRP card system is ending in December 2024 as UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) move to an online system from 01 January 2025. From 01 January 2025, you’ll be able to prove your immigration status online, without a BRP card.
You should still report the loss or theft of your BRP card to UKVI using the online form but you will not need to apply to replace it. Make sure you have created your UKVI account and you can access your eVisa. If you are outside the UK and plan to travel back before the 31 December 2024 please contact International Student Advice so we can advise you based on your individual circumstances.
If you have lost your passport or BRP card you should first make sure that you have checked everywhere it could possibly be. This means:
- Contacting the venue or location you were in when you last had it.
- If you lost it on campus, check the lost property of Estate Patrol (Northcote House) or at the Info Point desk in the Peter Lanyon Building if you are a Cornwall student
- Contact the local police station as it may have been handed in there.
If you are not in the UK you may need to remain in the country you are currently in while you replace your documents.
If your BRP has been lost or stolen in the UK
Once you are sure you do not have your BRP:
- Report the loss or theft to UK Visas and Immigration by using the online form. Once you have made the report to UK Visas and Immigration, your BRP will be cancelled.
- If your BRP has been stolen report this to the local police station.
- Contact us for personalised advice and we will provide guidance on what is best for your situation.
If your BRP has been lost or stolen outside the UK
- Report the loss or theft to the nearest police station and obtain a reference number or police report letter.
