Disability advice and support in Cornwall

Our Accessibility Team offer support and guidance if you are living with a disability or long term health condition and based on our Cornwall CampusesBy ‘disability’ we mean specific learning differences like dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and ADHD, other neurodivergence like Autism, long term health conditions, sensory or mobility impairments, and mental health conditions.

The team can: 

  • work with you to create an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and liaise with your course department to recommend learning adjustments, for example, extra time or using a laptop during exams 
  • help you apply for specialist one-to-one support and equipment 
  • liaise with the accommodation team to help you access adjustments in University halls of residence and help you arrange specific items like car parking permits 
  • signpost you to other services and support at the University and locally. 

If you are based in Cornwall, disability support is provided by the Accessibility Team who are managed by Falmouth Exeter Plus (FX Plus) who deliver shared services on behalf of both the University of Exeter and Falmouth University. 

Let us know about your disability 

You can tell us about your disability at any time during your studies or before you start studying with us. We call this, ‘declaring your disability’. By doing this you can access the support we offer. We will ask you to share supporting evidence to help us with any adjustments you may be looking for.
