Parking and travel
Cars
There is no car parking on Streatham or St Luke’s campus for current residents, except for blue badge holders.
The University has a Sustainable Travel Plan and actively encourages green travel. Both campuses are compact, and the city centre is within easy walking distance of both.
Public transport is also readily available, with local bus company Stagecoach offering a student package, and many residents share taxis to get to and from social activities. Therefore, we recommend you avoid bringing a car.
While there are pay and display and residents’ permit holders only parking around both campuses, students living in University residences do not qualify for residents’ permits in these areas.
If you have disability-related transport needs and are a blue badge holder, you can apply for a parking permit via the Campus Services Helpdesk. Subject to providing appropriate proof of entitlement, you will be given priority and your permit will be issued free of charge.
Permits are not transferable and should be always displayed on the windscreen. A new application is required at the start of the new academic year and the new permit will be issued following payment. Permit holders must be owners or named drivers and have the relevant insurance documents.
Please see the car parking website for further information.
Motorcycles
If you have a motorcycle, you can park on campus and at residences for free. Please leave them in designated areas or specific locations approved by the Hall Management team. At no time should they obstruct or inconvenience others on campus.
Please note: Motor vehicles which infringe parking or traffic regulations may receive a £60 parking charge.
Details about parking, including how to contact the Campus Services Helpdesk who will deal with these issues, are available from the Car Parking Office.
