Moving in
Once you have accepted your offer of accommodation, you will be contacted by the end of August and asked to complete an online induction in Room Service. The induction includes important information about your residence, health and safety during your stay and the support services available to you. It is compulsory and must be completed before you can pick up your keys.
Once you have completed your induction you will be able to book your arrival date and timeslot.
You must book a date and time to arrive at your residence in advance; numbers are limited per time slot so please ensure you complete your induction and book your arrival as soon as you receive the email.
For students who will be living in The Sidings, you will be contacted directly by CRM Students to arrange your move-in date.
During move in weekend, you will be able to park for free on Penryn Campus. Please be aware that normal parking charges apply outside of this period. You can find out more about how these work, including hourly charges, on our parking page.
Once you have checked in and collected your keys, you will be given an unload permit which will allow you to park your car at a designated area within the Glasney Student Village. You will have 2 hours to unload your car, after which it will need to be moved back to the main car park. If you have two cars with you to unload you will only be permitted to take one car down at a time.
You will only be able to take your car into Glasney Student Village once for unloading. If you need to visit the shops to get groceries, we advise that you do this before arrival or park at the main car park and walk down with your shopping.
Allowances will be made for Blue Badge holders.
Grocery Deliveries
We advise booking supermarket deliveries outside of the arrival times. During arrivals weekend delivery vans will not be allowed to enter Glasney Student Village.
Guests
We are unable to allow any overnight guests in residences for the first two weeks. If parents, relatives or friends are accompanying you they will need to book accommodation elsewhere. Falmouth and Penryn have lots of hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels and many advertise via Visit Falmouth.
For more information on moving in, view our accommodation policies.
Halls of Residence Handbook
The halls of residence handbook is produced for students living in Glasney Student Village, it contains lots of useful information like how to pay your accommodation fees or report a maintenance issue plus info. like how to find a GP Surgery (Doctor) and support that may be useful to all new students. Take a look at the 2024-25 Glasney Halls of Residence Handbook.
CRM Students will send students staying at The Sidings information regarding the arrivals process and parking.
They will contact you directly with information on how to book your arrival date and time slot as well as send you a map and directions prior to arrival.
Please contact the office at The Sidings directly if you have any questions, email penryn@crm-students.com or call 01326 591011.
You will need to bring your own bedding (including duvet and pillows), towels, cookware, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and personal items.
Standard items vary in each residence, and some also have different bed sizes. Please check your accommodation offer for information on what will be in your room. We suggest you wait until you arrive to buy cleaning equipment or shared kitchen items.
Bedding and Kitchen Starter Packs
You can order bedding and kitchen equipment from UniKitOut, reducing the number of items you need to bring with you. These will be sent to your residence in time for your arrival.
- Use discount code FXPlus10 for 10% off all orders
- Choose your kit
- Fill in your details, including your name and student ID

- Choose a delivery date
Do not bring chip pans, deep fat fryers, candles or incense sticks, portable heaters or any other items which could potentially cause a fire hazard.
Air fryers are allowed but should be kept in the Kitchen.
Please read your contract or residence handbook for rules and regulations on prohibited items. Prohibited items will be confiscated and returned to you at the end of your accommodation agreement.
If you have any queries, please contact the Accommodation Team at accommodation@fxplus.ac.uk regarding Glasney Student Village or penryn@crm-students.com for The Sidings
We don’t recommend bringing a car to Penryn Campus except for special circumstances, e.g. blue badge holders, as there is no parking available on campus, including Glasney Student Village. There is also no parking available at The Sidings.
There are great transport links with buses and trains to get you around the local area and further afield. You can securely store bikes at points all around the campus and there is bike storage at The Sidings. More information about this and the car parking policy in general can be found on the Travel and Transport pages. The Penryn Campus Map shows walking routes onto campus and bike storage points.
We have an airport collection service running from London Heathrow at 11am on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024.
You can book a seat to Penryn here. Visit our airport collection service page for more information.
If you are planning to get here outside of arrivals weekend you may find our planning your travel to university page useful.
