Dissertations and independent studies
Students wanting to do a discipline dissertation should direct any queries to the module convenor of the relevant dissertation module.
Students wanting to undertake Independent Study in final year may wish to consider taking FCH3888B (15 credits) or FCH3888E (30 credits). Information on both is available on the Study Information pages.
For some disciplines only the 15 credit variant is available (See Online Module Selection Discipline Guide for more details).
Lower level modules
Students wishing to take an option module at a lower stage e.g. a level 2 module in stage 3 will not normally be able to request this during OMS. If you want to take a lower level module and it is not available as part of your selections in OMS you must wait for the module change window to open in July when you can submit a module change request.
You will also need to complete a lower level module request form. Please download this Lower-Level Module Request Form (FCH Students Only) and fill it out - you must email this to fch@exeter.ac.uk before you fill out your module change request - otherwise it will not be processed.
Students going on their placement year in stage 3
Students currently on a 4-year programme are due to go on their placement in stage 3. Your 120 credit placement module will be applied to your record by the FCH Administrator.
Online Module Selection will be open for you so that you can select back up modules in case your placement does not go ahead next year.
