Carolyn and Andrew Trevorrow Memorial Fund Travel Bursaries
A small number of travel bursaries are available to students of all degree programmes at the Penryn and Truro Campus to help with the costs of residential field courses (excluding research/dissertation trips). In the first instance, preference will be given to students who were born and who currently reside in Cornwall, and/or meet Widening Participation criteria. Depending on numbers of applications, others may also be considered.
The travel bursary can be used towards the costs of your field course, for example:
- Travel, such as flights or train tickets
- Accommodation whilst on the field course or on the days you’re travelling e.g. a hotel at Heathrow airport if you have an early morning flight
- Visas
- Vaccinations
- Food whilst traveling and on the field course
- Equipment needed for the field course
- This list is not exhaustive and if there are other provisions you need to attend the field course, please detail them in your application
How to apply
Submit this application form to apply for the funding.
After the field course, successful applicants must submit a short written report (roughly 300 – 500 words) about the field course experience including photographs. These reports will be read by Ann Trevorrow to understand the impact her generous donation has had for the successful students.
Application deadline
Applications for the second part of the 2024/25 academic year are now accepted. Please only submit your application if your trip is leaving between March 2025 and June 2025. If your trip is leaving in June but it is part of the 2025/2026 academic year, please wait for the next round of funding to open before sending your application.
Funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The fund will close for applications when it has all been allocated.
Value of awards
There are 10 awards available of £150 each for the whole academic year. Each award can be used for 1 fieldtrip in the 2024/25 academic year.
