Starting university is an exciting time, and we realise the importance of finding the right place to live. We have a variety of self-catered and catered accommodation available at both our Exeter and Penryn campuses, which are suitable for a range of budgets. Being in university residences is a great way to make friends and settle in while being supported by our experienced welfare support team.

“I loved my first year flat, making the room my own and living close to all the lecture halls, offices and bus stops.
Having a seaside university experience was like a dream come true and didn’t involve compromising on the town or facilities. Whilst I am a long way from home, studying in Cornwall has given me a new lease of life and I have enjoyed everything that the location has provided.”

“There are two main accommodation options at the Penryn campus: The Sidings and Glasney Student Village. I stayed in Glasney for my first year. It’s on campus, with easy access to everything and a close-knit community where you live only seconds away from all your friends.
One of my personal favourite factors about it, is that it’s possible to get to some of the lecture theatres in under 4 minutes from any block. Yes, that means you can wake up at 8:40 and comfortably make it to your 9am.”

“As an international student, not being able to check out the accommodation in person during the Open Day was a bit of an inconvenience for me. Lucky for us, the website is packed with all the info you need, from room layouts to facilities, and they even threw in some video tours!
Handling everything from the application process to payments through their website was a total lifesaver for me, especially considering the massive time zone difference. Plus, their email response time was very quick. It felt like they were right there, ready to tackle tonnes of questions or concerns I had.”

“I love that the University of Exeter offers different types of rooms to choose from, with various levels of private and shared spaces. This includes shared rooms with shared bathrooms, en-suite rooms with a private bathroom, shared kitchen and living spaces, and studio rooms with a private bathroom and kitchen.
The Resident Life team hosts various events for us such as baking, making art, watching movies, and other de-stressing activities. I can meet students there in a very informal environment, which is great for making friends and networking.”

“Arriving at university can be quite exciting as it’s a new environment, but it can sometimes also be a challenge if you’re far from home, especially if you’re an international student like me.
I stayed in Glasney Parc, and when I first arrived my flatmates welcomed me really well. Glasney also has a reception open 24/7 to solve all your worries. Your room might appear empty and un-homely at first, but once you have filled it with all your possessions, it will become a little home and a comfortable place for you to settle into.”
