History & Archaeology, Philosophy & Religion and Classics
In this subject strand you will take an exciting intellectual journey into philosophy, society, history, religion and culture and examine how human experience and the contemporary world are shaped. We will guide you to develop transferable skills such as critical reasoning, communication, research, imaginative thinking and problem-solving techniques. The sessions will be taught in a mixture of lectures, seminars and practical group work classes by academics from our HASS (Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences) departments. You’ll also have hands-on sessions, studying the physical manifestations of history and culture with our Archaeological and Special Collections archives. You will spend time on both the Exeter and Cornwall campuses.
