From mobile phones to microwave ovens, the electrical devices we take for granted could not function without microcontrollers and microprocessors.
In this module, you will be introduced to the fundamental principles of the design, operation and application of PICS, microcontrollers and microprocessors and to assembly language programming for the Microchip PIC16MCU series devices.
Prerequisite module: ECM1102, ECM1106 or equivalent
This module aims to develop your understanding of the fundamental principles of the design, architecture and applications of microcontrollers. The laboratory sessions concentrate on the PIC16MCU development system, and you will get the chance to use assembly language programming to develop a range of applications.
This is a constituent module of one or more degree programmes which are accredited by a professional engineering institution under licence from the Engineering
Council. The learning outcomes for this module have been mapped to the output standards required for an accredited programme, as listed in the current version
