DESCRIPTION - summary of the module content

In this module, you will analyse a range of case studies drawn from the finance industry, drawing together and complementing the theory developed in your other modules.  You will learn and be assessed in a range of ways, including short team sprints developing solutions for your industry clients, communicating professionally, and demonstrating individual competences with key tools and core knowledge.  A key aim of the module is to develop you as an articulate rounded professional in mathematical finance, with the skills to apply and interpret your learning in topical situations.

AIMS - intentions of the module

This module aims to develop your skills in solving real-world business finance problems, working both independently and as part of a delivery team. It will develop team work and communication skills for communicating your knowledge from other modules. The skills developed through the module align with those you will use in a career providing business finance solutions.

The majority of the module will be taught in case based workshops. The syllabus covers the skills needed to supplement the knowledge from other modules.

RE-ASSESSMENT NOTES

Deferrals: Reassessment will be by coursework and/or written exam in the deferred element only. For deferred candidates, the module mark will be uncapped.

Referrals: Reassessment will be by a single written project worth 100% of the module only. As it is a referral, the mark will be capped at 50%.
