Module description
The module is designed for students who completed MLP 1052.

The module will also expand your grammatical knowledge of Portuguese, with a particular focus on more advanced grammatical structures and categories, which you will apply to written and oral tasks.
You will also further your knowledge on contemporary Lusophone cultural aspects.
In addition, particular emphasis will be given in preparing students for their year abroad: how to create your CV, write a covering letter and job interview techniques.
Module aims - intentions of the module
This course consolidates and develops the basic language skills acquired in MLP 1056, enabling students to communicate confidently in Portuguese through a range of written, oral, and comprehension exercises, as well as through integrated translation exercises, covering different registers and areas of vocabulary.
The module will focus on more advanced grammatical constructions and categories, namely the Subjunctive, which will enable students to communicate in a wider range of communicative contexts.
Finally, the module is committed to address important current affairs and cultural and social topics which are particularly relevant in the diverse Portuguese-speaking world.
