Overview
- This UK degree transfer program is for Malaysian students at Brickfields Asia College (BAC) only, for direct entry into year 2 of LLB Law (M108) or year 3 of LLB Law (M112).
- Provides BAC students with the foundation to pursue a professional legal career*

Entry requirements
Pass all subjects with an average of 50% in Y1 at BAC.
IELTS: at least 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any other section.
SPM English 1119 exam can be accepted in lieu of IELTS (but must have been completed no more than seven years prior to enrolment).
TOEFL PBT: at least 570 and an Essay Rating of at least 4.0.
TOEFL IBT: at least 100 with minimum scores of 21 for writing, 21 for listening, 22 for reading and 23 for speaking.

Summary
In Exeter you will take modules adding up to 120 credits each year. In your third year, you may also choose to take 30 credits in a subject outside law, subject to prior approval.

Accreditations
Our LLB programmes provide an excellent start to a legal career if that is your goal, equipping you with the knowledge and skills that will support you towards the next steps to professional legal qualification. This includes the 'foundations of legal knowledge' subjects required for the academic stage of qualification as a barrister. If you plan to qualify as a solicitor or barrister, after you graduate you will need to comply with the further training and other requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Bar Standards Board, or the relevant regulatory body in the country in which you intend to practice.

Tuition fees for 2025 entry
International students: £24,700 per yearBrickfields-Exeter scholarship
Our Brickfields-Exeter Scholarship will be deducted from eligible students' tuition fees in each year of study at the University of Exeter (up to a maximum of 2 years).
- 1+2 (second year entry) students will receive a total scholarship of £8,000 (deducted from tuition fees in two £4,000 instalments each year of study at the University of Exeter)
- 2+1 (final year entry) students will receive a total scholarship of £4,000 (deducted from tuition fees in one £4,000 instalment during their year of study at the University of Exeter)
All Brickfields students who apply to our 1+2 or 2+1 courses and meet our entry requirements will receive this scholarship.
University of Exeter Undergraduate Scholarships 2025/6 for Malaysia
1+2 Brickfields students are also eligible for our £3,500 Malaysian Undergraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a reduction in the tuition fees for one year of study. It is not recurrent for subsequent years of study.
This scholarship will be allocated automatically to eligible applicants for entry in the 2025/6 academic year. A separate application is not required.
1+2 students will receive both the Brickfields-Exeter Scholarship and the Malaysian Undergraduate Scholarship in their first year of study with us at the University of Exeter. The total award you will receive in your first year at Exeter is £7,500. You will receive the second payment of £4,000 for the Brickfields-Exeter Scholarship in your final year with us.
- Total scholarship award for 1+2 Brickfields students = £11,500

Career paths
Many graduates from our Law courses go on to further study in the law and then enter a training contract with a firm of solicitors or a pupillage in a barrister’s chambers. A law degree also provides a range of skills which are sought by other sectors such as business, finance and administration.

Our Legal Assistance Programme offers a range of pro bono opportunities to provide valuable career experience. These include the Community Law Clinic, the Stop Abuse for Everyone charity, the Student Appeals Project and Judicial Shadowing.
Exeter enjoys an international reputation for mooting and our students have been successful in competitions all over the world. Mooting provides you with the opportunity to practise your advocacy skills in a simulated court environment. You’ll receive coaching from staff and present your arguments before volunteer judges in a purpose-built moot court. Our Student Negotiation Society also sends teams to the National Negotiation Competition.
