Learn about the science that underpins medicine. Discover how the human body normally works, how things can go wrong in the body due to disease and trauma, and how normal function might be restored.
Our Medical Sciences degrees prepare you to translate scientific discoveries and technological advances into improved healthcare through small-group sessions, lectures and hands-on laboratory practicals.
You can choose to specialise in the area that interests you most and undertake a research project with our world-renowned research groups, tailoring your degree to match your specific career ambitions.
You may choose to undertake our Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences degree, taught jointly by the Medical School and the Department of Sport and Health Sciences. It blends an understanding of the pathology, prevention and treatment of acute or chronic disease/injury, alongside an insight into the science underpinning the optimal preparation, performance and rehabilitation of the athlete or healing patient.
The exposure to world-class research at the Medical School, has motivated me to work hard and has assured me that if you put effort into achieving your dreams, you’ll eventually do it and you’ll be great!
