Olga Polizzi (LLD)
Olga Polizzi is the eldest of
the late Lord Forte’s five
daughters and is a younger
sister to Sir Rocco.
Since 1996, Olga has been
working with Sir Rocco to
build a new luxury hotel
company, The Rocco Forte
Collection, of which she
and her brother are the
major shareholders.
Olga’s official title at The
Rocco Forte Collection is
Director of Design.
The Rocco Forte Collection currently owns hotels in many
European capital cities and the portfolio includes The Balmoral
in Edinburgh, Brown’s Hotel in London and The Lowry Hotel
in Manchester. Olga is currently working on the design of
Rocco Forte properties in Prague, Marrakech and Sicily.
Prior to the creation of The Rocco Forte Collection, Olga
was a Main Board Director and Director of Building and
Design at Forte plc from 1983 to 1996, when it was taken
over by Granada. She was also a Westminster Councillor
from 1989 to 1994. Olga is currently on the councils of
King’s College London and of the Edward VII Hospital.
Olga opened Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes, Cornwall in June
1998, having completely refurbished it as a personal project.
She opened Hotel Endsleigh in Devon on 4 August 2005.
Olga’s elder daughter Alex is in charge of running the latter.
Olga is married to the author William Shawcross; she has
two daughters, as well as a step-son and step-daughter.
