Professorial pay
- The University has 3 pay bands for Professors: Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3
- There are pay points at roughly 3% intervals within Band 1 and Band 2; there are no stipulated points within Band 3
- Professors continue to receive national (JNCHES) general increases, in line with current practice
- The University conducts a biennial Professorial Salary Review.
- Progression within each Band will not be assumed; rather, it will require evidence of sustained high levels of performance, demonstrated in the biennial reviews
- In appropriate circumstances, market supplements and other forms of supplements and allowances may be paid.
The next biennial Professorial Salaries Review will take place in summer/autumn 2025.
Detailed information about the Professorial Salaries Review 2025 will be sent to non-clinical professors in summer 2025.
Decisions will be made by the Professorial Salaries Committee in the autumn term 2025 and it is expected that Professors will be notified of the outcome of the Review by the end of November 2025. Any pay increases which are agreed will take effect from 1 August 2025.
